Theists, a question about the after-life?

In the month or so that I have been here in R&S, I see you repeatedly asking atheists what we are living for, what is the purpose of life, if there is no god and no heaven. It is a very strange question to me, as someone who has grown up without any belief in either. For me, this life here and now is fulfilling, amazing, exciting, and more than enough to make me feel complete. I don’t mean to insult you or offend you at all, but it is hard for me to understand your mindset, so I have to ask: What is it that you are missing from this life that makes you long for another one so badly? Is there nothing important enough in your life to make you happy to get out of bed every day? It saddens me greatly to think that you find this life so empty.
