Are Charity, Compion and Respect for others dead among California's religious community?

Proposition 8 is loathsome and Rick Warren doesn't impress me much, however, I can see where Obama is going with this. He is positioning himself to maintain widespread mainstream support during this mandate, and hopefully the next. Strategy - its what all politicians do. Its disheartening, but I would wait and see how Obama performs on a number of the gay--ed issues over the course of the next two years before I withdrew support. And I agree, what the religious community is doing is highly intolerant and lacks compion. After all, no one is interfering with the right of straight people to marry the opposite and no one ever will.
