Describe the phases of mitosis and meiosis that are similar. What happens in these phases?

Meiosis II and mitosis are pretty identical; both involve the splitting of the centromere and movement of the new chromosomes to opposite poles of the cell. These can be seen in any competent Biology text diagrams.
